Hi

I currently have a phone plan and i can now upgrade, i just want a sim only now, I don't want a new phone, do i have to end my current one and buy a new plan as it only offers phone plans when i click on upgrade.

Thanks.

Nooooo don’t click cancel - you’ll lose your number @thompson_2009

And yes I have to agree with you, picking up a phone to get support would always be better IMHO

So via the iD app you can’t see the upgrade (maybe their system should show renew) option whereby you have the options for SIM only or SIM + phone?

What about trying these options:

https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat

Live Chat is available 9am - 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 6pm Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holidays.

Or even their sales team (this might give you an answer quicker):

The iD Mobile sales team are available on 020 7139 1397 and their sales advisers work 9am - 6pm

I could be wrong but you’re essentially downgrading. And for that to happen you’d probably need to see out the entire duration of your current SIM and phone contract (you can upgrade/renew your existing SIM and phone deal with 2 months left on that contract).

If you’ve reached 24 months and (as an example) 1 day, then you should be able to renew your contract on to a SIM only deal.

Just so you know, unlike most providers I’ve used, when the phone is paid off in full the contracted price does NOT revert a lower price with iD. Others automagically drop their price to SIM only prices.

Others may clarify when you can renew.

HI Thanks for the answer. My contract finished yesterday. It only offers me the option to upgrade to another phone. Nothing else. I can’t even cancel the current one. i am totally stuck.

click cancel get

To be honest I am going off these cheap online companies. It’s all fine until you get a problem.
