How can ID not have a telephone line to speak with someone and it's online chat only which takes so long just to discuss an issue. 

 

Cost cutting and adding frustration for their customers. 

 

I'm out after contract ends..

It's quicker to speak with as someone.. The chatbot does my head in.. Eventually can get a real person on chat but then go through security, then start cgatting about the actual problem.. It takes much more time.. 

 

Anyway, other family members had call issues but since been resolved.

 

However, today I realised have a problem with mine. I just realised after sending an SMS. The recipient texted me back and the number that came up on his phone was the temporary one ID assigned me and not my my ported in number. I've gone into message settings and 'advanced'  to check and inputted my number but everytime I go out of advanced options in message settings it reverts.. My sim settings however have the correct number in there.

Hi, it's a Huawei Mate 20X 5G (EVR - N29) and it has EMUI 12.

Also, to clarify., ID network recipients see my actual number, as does a friend who is on the Vodafone network.

 

It is a friend who is on the EE netwotk who informed me about a different number coming up.

I have read on google someone suggested to disable RSS chat and change the number tgere as it mqy be picking up the wrong number. I haven't been able to try that yet due to not able to use the authentication app atm.

Can you please follow these steps to see if it helps?

 

-If you open your Messaging app and click Settings > Chat Features does it show the correct number? If it shows the incorrect one, then head to: https://messages.google.com/disable-chat and you should be able to de-register the number. Once done, turn off the Chat Features and the phone. Wait a few minutes and turn the device back on and re-enable Chat Features it should let you re-register/update to the correct number.-

 That's what I said about  disabling the chat settings in google.

 

I couldn't do it due to a glitch with the auth app but need to try again. I've got the link..

I just tried to disable and re-enable RSS chat, however it didn't work. It is still showing the ID issued number when I switch my phone back on and re-enable it.

I just tried to disable and re-enable RSS chat, however it didn't work. It is still showing the ID issued number when I switch my phone back on and re-enable it. 

I get a OTP sent to my phone on my ported in number but the phone itself still shows the ID issued number.

Can you please try powering down the handset and then removing the SIM. 

Please then power up the handset without the SIM for a few minutes. 

After this, please reinsert the SIM to see if the settings update?
