Data only SIM and can't access account

I’m trying to regain access to my account, but the process is broken. I have (I think) a data only SIM, and the authentication codes are never received, so I can never log in to my account.

Hi @Matthew T i have a similar issue. Can you help? I have just taken out a contract with you for an esim that I’m using on an iPad. The issue is that I cannot get text messages on the iPad. So I cannot verify my account on the app. Despite having all other details and verifying my email. I am abroad and am currently unable to use roaming data. Please help

@moolife -

You’ll need to pop your SIM into a phone, to receive an SMS. Don’t worry this won’t cost. Have you also enabled Roaming on your iPad, these are the steps for iPhone I imagine they’ll be similar?

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap ‘Mobile Services’.
  3. Tap ‘Mobile Data Options’.
  4. Check that ‘Data Roaming’ toggle is turned on.

Thanks.

Hi @Matthew T I have the same scenario, I have an eSIM in my iPad from you so cannot swap it into an iPhone to complete the data roaming steps your outlined above, I have completed these steps on the iPad but cannot receive the SMS into the Apple Messages App. Is there another way around this?

Morning @markgray260,

What are you trying to receive an SMS for, is this to register for the iD Mobile app?

Thanks.

Okay @markgray260. You’ll need to contact Live Chat to either get a replacement eSIM or SIM card sent. This’ll need to be popped into a device capable of receiving SMS messages to register for the iD Mobile app.

Once registered, you’ll be able to get another eSIM in the iD Mobile app (you won’t need to contact Live Chat this time) to download back to your iPad. Thanks.
