Why am I responsible for DPD losing my phone?

Dear ID

Started a switch from 3mobile on Thurs 2nd May, phone was to be delivered on Fri 3rd May but wasn't as driver was ‘delayed’, after not hearing from them but 12pm on Tues 7th I called DPD to be told that they don’t know where it is as it has had “no new scans since Friday” which sounds more like the driver stole it.

DPD then made me contact Currys, who made me contact Carphone Warehouse who made me contact ID who told me I have to wait 6-8 days for an “investigation to be carried out”. INVESTIGATION ON WHAT? DPD picked up the phone and have admitted it’s gone. I realise you have to rule out fraud on my part but I have the receipts that show DPD ‘lost’ it.

In the meantime a wait of 6-8 days means the first bill is due for a phone I should have had 12 days prior. I think everyone knows that the only logistics company worse than DPD is Hermes, and making ME responsible for chasing this issue is classic DPD, but ID then asking a new customer to wait another week for an investigation into something that actually has nothing to do with them has to be the worst customer service ever. Sort it out or refund me and I’ll go elsewhere

Hi @rshaw

Sorry to hear this, however we would need to raise an investigation with DPD ourselves to confirm if the parcel has been lost, unfortunately we cannot just take your word for it, an investigation would be done, DPD give us a claims reference and we’d then be able to go ahead with processing a replacement.

Sorting it will take time, if you have already been in contact with us about it please continue there.

Hi @rshaw .

Hope you’re well.

Just wanted to know if you managed to receive the phone and how long it took? I am currently in the same situation and wanted to know how long this would all roughly take.

It had nothing to do with taking his word for it.  DPD tracking confirmed it has never been delivered.   Appalling customer service and a legal failing to fulfill your side of the contractual agreement!!!!

I am going through the same situation right now.  The DPD tracking confirms that I have never received the item I have paid for and ID are now saying I just wait 6 working days for an investigation.

I have requested the replacement is sent as advertised at point of sale or that the contract is cancelled with immediate effect - both more than reasonable requests but both refused.  In the meantime, they have sent me my first bill for what I gave never received.  I can safely say that I have never received such a poor customer service standard than I have had from ID mobile.

Could I ask if you ever got a resolution to your problem because I am very close to contacting Trading Standards about this company.

Hi @Susan1878

My above message would be about a general situation, not specifically yours, your experience may be different.

I can see we’ve already sent you a private message about this, we’ll update when possible.

It’s because ID mobile are in on these thefts, otherwise why do they continue to use DPD when they have hundreds of cases of People’s phones not being delivered or tampered with. Read all the complaints on here. They are a scam company to tie you in to a contract without sending a new mobile phone. Corrupt as hell. Curry’s/ID mobile/Carphone Warehouse need to be investigated along with DPD. They are all in it together. Why would you keep using a deliver company where their staff are stealing the phones and then not help their customers who have been scammed? Reeks of collaboration!! WARN ALL YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS NEVER TO DO BUSINESS WITH THESE COMPANIES THEY ARE FRAUDSTERS!!

Hello @Hammo1323

Thank you for posting.

We can see you have posted on a few different threads regarding the experience your girlfriend has had with delivery.

Can you please confirm if they have already raised this for investigation?

Thanks,

They have and it has been the worst experience we have ever experienced by a mobile phone company!

she has been left with no mobile phone or service after you have switched her number to new service.

she has never received phone or SIM card as DPD never delivered on day booked or any other day and the phone and sim has ‘gone missing’. Now she has to wait with no service whilst you investigate!!! Terrible service. She needs phone for work and is cared for her elderly mum who now can’t contact her and we have no timescale how long this ‘ investigation’ Will take. All the time you are taking payments for her service for a SIM card that we haven’t received or activated? We don’t even know where that phone and SIM card, where you have transferred her number too, is and god knows who has this and could be using it!!!

it atrocious customer service, reading comments on this site this is happening to a lot of other customers and it’s been going on a long time!
why are you still using DPD as a service when it is well known by your company that their staff are stealing your phones and sims???

our biggest regret is ever switching to you, god I wish we’d read the reviews before we placed order!!! I just hope other people read these posts and do not order your phones and contracts and go through this nightmare!!!

Hi @Hammo1323,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Sorry to hear about the issues that she has experienced.]

So that we can look into this further we would require that the account holder contacts us directly.

Is she able to get in touch via the Community? If this is already being investigated by another team I would advise that she continues to liaise with them.

Kash
