Forget the Oscars – it’s the iD Community Phone Awards that take centre stage! As we kick off 2025, let’s take a moment to look back at the standout phones of 2024. From the best camera to the most durable device, here are the smartphones that stole the show last year. Drum roll, please…

Sometimes the jump between an older version of a phone and the newest one isn’t what it could be. Luckily, the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is one giant leap. Literally. If you want to up your Insta game, you’ll need to snap up the iPhone 16 Pro. Apple’s latest makes it faster and easier to nail a picture-perfect shot. With Camera Control, you can access depth of field, zoom and other tools really quickly, all without having to faff about in a bunch of menus. Letting you focus on the important bits – like getting your hair right for that selfie.

It’s not just photos that get the special treatment though. 4K 120 FPS Dolby Vision on the 48MP Fusion camera makes your clips and vlogs way crisper too. And they’ll sound as good as they look, with studio quality mics capturing every chat, laugh and terrible dad joke. After all, audio is 50% of the experience, and Apple aren’t cutting any corners here.
