My favourite walk is near me, Bradgate Park in Leicestershire. Has loads of deer and great hilly walks, perfect for the dog!

Lovely coast path route from Tintagel to Trebarwith Strand and back .. about 5 miles in total.  The Port William Inn is fabulously located just above Trebarwith Strand with plenty of outside tables.  Tintagel has a whole range of shops and cafes catering for many different tastes. Sunsets at the Strand are awesome with the iconic Gull Rock changing in character along with the light.

I love run and I did half marathons, marathons and ultra marathons around London, Reading, Wokingham, Windsor, Southampton, Newbury. And in every race I see beautiful places, UK is beautiful.

But one time I hiking the biggest mountain in Portugal (Serra da Estrela) 2010m altitude, and omg, till today if I close my eyes, the altitude views and the blue sky still in my head. I think was a greatest experience on my life. Ultra trail (oh meu deus Serra da Estrela) I really recommended https://horizontes.pt/en/oh-meu-deus/

One of the most memorable hikes I’ve ever done was on Skirrid Mountain in Wales. The experience was nothing short of breathtaking. As I made my way up the winding trail, the views that unfolded before me were simply stunning. The expansive landscapes, with rolling hills and valleys beneath a vast, open sky, felt like something out of a dream. Every step up felt like a step closer to tranquility.

The air was incredibly fresh, It was so pure, it felt as though every breath was revitalizing my spirit. The higher I climbed, the more at peace I felt with nature. The summit, with its panoramic views, was the ultimate reward—making every effort to reach it completely worth it.

Skirrid Mountain wasn’t just a hike; it was an opportunity to disconnect from the world and reconnect with the serenity that only nature can provide. I left that mountain with a sense of calm and gratitude that still lingers with me today.

I really enjoy parkwalk, where I walk just over 3 miles or 5 k on a Saturday. This is a timed event which means I can see each week how I am doing. Even when caught in the rain I really enjoy chatting to other walkers and encouraging runners as I pass them.

I enjoy walking along the Trough of Bowland. It’s hilly so it’s good exercise, there are also a lot of trees which is very pleasant on a hot day.

One of our favourite walks right near home is Scout Moor in Lancashire ,near Edenfield. With stunning views overlooking the Irwell valley and the big wind turbines, it is always an enjoyable walk.

The whangie, it was my first walk when I started scouts and got me into walks/hiking.

One of our favourite walks was Rhossili and Worm Head Circular we did back in 2024. Some fantastic views and interesting walks we have done for some time.  The Rhossili beach is won the best in the uk.  Stepping done onto the Worm Head is a challenging walk with intriguing in what you find in the rock pools.
Definite recommended walk we found on AllTrails.

I once hiked to the top of Cadair Idris at dawn, chasing the myth that sleeping there turns you into a poet—or mad. Mist hugged the rocks, ravens wheeled overhead, and the silence was loud with promise. Each step up was a poem; every breath out, a verse.

I had no idea how far I'd come or how fast my heart was pounding (probably both dangerously and poetically), but a Garmin Venu 3S would’ve been the perfect trail companion—keeping me on track while I tried to avoid becoming myth myself.

Next time I hike into Welsh legends, I’d like my heart rate and my haikus monitored.

My wife & I are lucky enough to live right next to the Milton Creek Country Park, just outside Sittingbourne. I've lived here for 19 years & when I moved in, the country park was just a wasteland with the Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway running through it. Now it's an inviting landscape with loads of habitat for wildlife, including foxes, rabbits, bats, common lizards, newts, a multitude of wild bird species & many insects. We enjoy trying to identify the birds we can hear & see, helped by an app or 2 on our phones & generally walking & taking in the different areas of the park. It also hosts a weekly parkrun & the rangers regularly organise wildlife spotting walks & arts & craft activities for all ages. If I could add a few pics I would gladly do so.

The coastal path from Lligwy beach to Meolfre on Anglesey is a lovely walk. Not too far, quite up and down so you need to be relatively fit, but the views are beautiful and at the end of the walk there's a nice pub and a lovely chippy!

Really enjoyed this walk around Lake District. We arranged  accommodation to stay at beautiful cottage by the lake. Need to have a good map and Garmin Venue 3 watch, as some parts are not very well way marked. But the Views were stunning, definitely to go back again and again,  Garmin Venu 3s watch please. 😉 😃

Thanks 🙏

I'm lucky enough to live in the Highlands, so many fantastic walks

My favourite hike is actually close to home, a local hill called Criffel which I have climbed more times than I can remember but the views are worth it!
