I am following the action at Wimbledon, supporting Sonay Kartal as an upcoming tennis star. It’s great to have some young female tennis players flying the flag for England.

I'm backing the Lionesses all the way this summer! 🏆⚽ With a fresh squad and plenty to prove, I’m hoping they can defend their title and bring it home again. I’ll also be cheering on Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon – here’s hoping for another epic showdown! And of course, I won’t miss Hamilton at Silverstone… fingers crossed for a podium finish on home soil. What a summer of sport!

For me it has to be the England Women's Team of Serina Wiegman. She achieved miracles last time in lifting a previously mediocre side to the position of European Champions. She has had to rebuild that side in the last couple of years and has had to deal with several players who resented being told they were no longer automatic first team choices. She has stuck to her beliefs, though, and the team has started to look better for it. Now it's a case of wishing them all the best for a few gruelling weeks and hoping they can again lift the trophy.

Lewis Hamilton, The Lions & Springboks

Sports fans are in for a treat this summer. It’s jam-packed with huge tournaments, races and more – and to celebrate, we're giving you the chance to win a HISENSE 55E6NTUK 55" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV!

If you don’t want to miss a second of the non-stop action, we’re here to help. We’ll show you how to stream all the unmissable moments live on your iPhone or Android. And we’ll explain how to get your phone plan prepped, whether you’re watching at home or cheering from the sidelines abroad.

Just follow this handy guide to catch every goal, match point and chequered flag without any nasty surprises on your mobile bill, and find out how to enter our incredible giveaway. Let’s get going…

First things first: Get your data plan match fit.

Streaming sport can use up a big chunk of your data. Meaning it’s a good idea to check your plan before kick-off to see how much data you’ve got to play with. Watching in standard definition can use up to 1GB per hour, while high definition will triple that, gobbling up a whopping 3GB or so every 60 minutes. If the football goes to extra time and pens, it’s safe to say you’ll be using a lot.

So, if you’re planning on watching every single second, now’s the perfect time to think about upgrading. With a new plan, you might even be able to get more data for your money!

Watching in the UK: Wimbledon & British GP.

Most sport nowadays is locked behind a paywall. You don’t need an expensive subscription here though. You can catch two of the UK’s biggest sporting events for free on your phone…

  • Wimbledon (June 30 – July 13) – Arguably the biggest grand slam in the tennis calendar, Wimbledon is always ace. And it’ll serve up some big hitting matchups, with world number one Jannik Sinner looking to bounce back from his final defeat at the French Open. But if Carlos Alcaraz – last year’s winner – has anything to say about it, we could be in for another titanic battle for the trophy. You can stream matches from each round live on BBC iPlayer.
  • British Grand Prix (July 4 – July 6) – Hamilton’s switch to Ferrari hasn’t exactly gone to plan so far. With zero wins, and zero finishes on the podium, Lewis has a lot to do to climb the standings. Could home advantage at Silverstone help him take the top spot? Find out and watch the race live on the All 4 app.

Roaming in Europe: Tour de France & Belgian GP.

Jetting off to Europe? You can use your phone just like you do at home (in certain countries) with iD Mobile’s Roam Free service. You’ll have pretty much the same amount of minutes, texts and data from your regular plan (up to a 30GB fair usage limit), all available at no extra cost. Result.

  • Tour de France (July 5 – July 27) – The world’s most gruelling cycle race pedals onto screens at the start of July. And you can see every sprint and lightning-fast descent on Eurosport and Discovery+. We’re just glad it’s not us doing those punishing hill climbs.
  • Belgian Grand Prix (July 25 – July 27) – More motorsport. Yes please! The F1 hops over the channel with a trip to the Spa-Francorchamps circuit – the longest track on the current race calendar. To see all 44 laps, you’ll need a Sky Sports subscription (also accessible via Sky Go), or a NOW TV pass.

Cheering on the Lionesses at the Euros?

If you’ve been lucky enough to bag tickets to the footie over in Switzerland, we make it easy to stay connected. The land of skiing and top choc is one of our ‘Roam Beyond’ destinations. What’s that then?

Well, depending on how long it takes for England to be crowned champions (or get knocked out in devastating fashion), you can buy a one day, five day, or ten day data add-on. Just make sure to sort this before you start using your data over there. Otherwise, you could be in for a big ol’ bill.

  • Women’s Euros (July 2 – July 27) – Can Sarina Wiegman’s side make it back-to-back Euros titles? With a tough looking group (France and the Netherlands are no push overs) it’s not going to be an easy one. And with a serious turnover in the squad – we miss you already, Mary Earps – the team isn’t as experienced as it once was. You’ll be able to catch each match over on BBC iPlayer and ITVX.

From managing your data at home to understanding roaming in France, Belgium and Switzerland, you should now be all set to stream this epic summer of sport. Before you head off though, double check your plan (can you upgrade?) and roaming options in the iD Mobile app

Giveaway time!

Got a favourite team you'll be cheering on this summer? Whether you're following the football, dreaming of a Wimbledon win, or have your eyes glued to the Tour de France, we want to know who you're supporting!

Tell us who you are supporting this summer in sport in the comments below for a chance to win a HISENSE 55E6NTUK 55" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV—perfect for watching all the action in stunning detail.

The winner will be picked at random, so keep an eye on your inbox or DMs for a message from us. But hurry—the competition closes on 21st July at 23:59!

I'll be cheering on the lionesses at the euros.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
