You can’t port a number between iD Mobile plans. You’ll need to either return or cancel the new plan and upgrade your existing one or port out the number you want to keep to another network and then port it back.

HI @Sonia goldsbury

Thank you for getting in touch. I can confirm that if you have upgraded your existing iD Mobile contract your number will remain the same.

You can still use your existing SIM as the upgraded plan will be processed on the same SIM card unlike a new plan where you’ll receive a new SIM and new number.

Thanks,

Anneline

Hi @Sonia goldsbury ,

Thank you for letting us know.

As advised earlier, if you completed an upgrade, you will be able to keep your existing number, but you will move onto the new plan.

However, if you took out a separate new contract instead of upgrading, you won’t be able to transfer your existing number to that new contract, as we’re unable to process internal number transfers within our system. In this case, you would need to cancel the new plan and then process an upgrade on your current account to keep your number.

Thanks,

Kwanele

I’ve already outlined the steps you need to take. Look at the best answer. The options are fixed and won’t change regardless of how many times you ask.

You’ve been told repeatedly that you can’t port or transfer a number within the same network. It needs to be ported to a different network.

Hi @Sonia goldsbury

Kindly be advised that we’re unable to process number transfers from iD Mobile to iD Mobile, as the system does not support this and there is a risk that the number could be lost.

The only way to keep your number would be to either complete an upgrade on your existing account, or transfer your number to another network first and then transfer it back to iD Mobile.

I apologise for the inconvenience this may cause. If you’d like, I can guide you through the available options.

Michael
