awful reception and different network barred!

Hi everybody, moved to Idmobile from GiffGaff because of poor reception. I live in a well known bad area for reception.

I also have a Thai sim in my phone.

Always good reception in terms of many bars on my Thai sim but not for Idmobile!

So after playing around, this is the conclusion.

The Thai sim picks up the best betwork.

The Idmobile sim is not allowed to to pick other networks, is not allowed!

So why is this?

Would love to know why my Idmobile sim is not allowed to connect to other networks.

    Okay ​@Pattayapaul, the Thai SIM is allowed to use any of the UK networks for which they have a roaming agreement. 

    Check with the Thai SIM provider on the networks you’re allowed to use in the UK.

    While in the UK, you can only use your iD SIM with the iD Mobile network, which is powered by Three UK.

    Sorry to hear this, in Thailand the iD Mobile SIM card should be able to use the following networks;

     

    Advanced Wireless Network Company

    True Move H Universal Communication Co., Ltd. (Real Future)

    Total Access Communications (DTAC)

     

    This may not be every available network in Thailand, however those are the ones we have roaming agreements with.

    What device are you using the iD Mobile SIM card in?

    Well yes. Because signal bars are virtually none existent. No bars at all sonetimes. But the Thai sim full bars

    As an update, I am now in Vietnam.

    ID Mobile is useless!

    I am getting no messages or OTPS.

    I have tried everthing.

    Resetting etc.

    Enabled roaming in the app and on the phone.

    Allowed £5 credit limit.

    Enabled Premium.

    In short ID Mobile is not allowed to connect to any other network.

    I know, because I have tried.

    So, here I am in Vietnam unable to register with local airlines, receive Sms, or OTPS.

    ID Mobile is about as usefull as a chocolate fire guard.

    When I arrive back in England, going back on GiffGaff.

    No point anybody telling me to try this, try that  unless you know how to connect to other networks.

    Which is a non starter because IDMobile blocks you from doing so.

    GROCK AI informed me that ID Mobile is a digital network provider and does not own any masts and stuff. Cheap, but useless here, and in my own town because of reception. All down to network lock.

    Rant over.
