I am in the process of switching to iD and am waiting for my SIM to arrive to complete the switch. I have had confirmation from iD that my billing will be from 7 April but I cannot use the service until SIM arrives and switch is complete? is this correct.

Okay @JR77, the standard practice at iD Mobile is to begin billing for services when your iD account is connected to their network.

Because your SIM card is active when dispatched, billing will start from the date your iD SIM card is dispatched to you, @JR77 - unfortunately, even if you can’t, or don’t use the SIM card.

The above from @andewhite would be correct, billing begins upon dispatch.

 

The number transfer would not affect billing in any way.
