I’m travelling to Australia. I want to buy an eSIM. Not through idmobile. Will it work?

    Hi @SimonSachB,

Yes, you can use a travel eSIM from another provider while you’re in Australia, provided your handset supports eSIM and is compatible with the provider you choose.

We’d recommend setting your iD Mobile Bill Cap to £0.00 before travelling. This will help prevent unexpected chargeable roaming usage on your iD Mobile line while you’re using the separate travel eSIM.

Even if you intend to use the travel eSIM for data, your iD Mobile line may still remain connected to a roaming network and certain services could potentially result in charges.

To set your Bill Cap to £0.00:

    1. Open the iD Mobile app.
    2. Go to Bills.
    3. Select Manage bill cap.
    4. Set the cap to £0.00.
    5. Save the changes.

We’d also recommend making sure the travel eSIM is selected as your primary SIM for mobile data once you arrive in Australia.
