Did not get emergency alert

Hello,

I've not been impacted by the outage that seems to be currently going on. I've been sending and receiving texts etc.

What I didn't get was the emergency alert that went out about the red weather warning.

All my settings are set up right for it. I never got the last one either when it was the test.

Any idea why??

Maybe the mobile network operators haven’t ironed-out all the glitches in this system as yet, @Derri

My phone is setup to received these emergency mobile network cell broadcasts, but like yourself I’m not receiving them.

I didn't get it either, both this time and the original test when I was with Three. At that time we were told there was a glitch in the Three network meaning a lot of customers didn't get it. Suspect the same has happened again as ID piggybacks off Three. We can all perish together😝

    Helo @Derri and @Mont6660

Thank you for reaching out to us here on the community.

We are sorry to hear you have not received the text alert.

Most iOS and Android phones have the ability to receive emergency alerts turned on by default, but in some cases it's possible this option may have been turned off.

Are you able to check that this feature is enabled on your handset?

    Thanks,

    Nat

I checked and the phone is set up fine with the emergency alerts switched on. Just no alert at all. And I am well into the Red area

Hey there @Mont6660, it could’ve been due to the Three UK outage that caused you not to receive the emergency alarm I’m afraid, if you were in an affected area, our sincere apologies regarding that.

    Thanks,

    Tyler

    Hi @David McAllister

If you didn't receive the UK emergency alert, it could be due to several reasons. The alert is designed to be sent to specific areas using 4G and 5G networks, and if you are not connected to these networks, you will not receive the alert. Additionally, if your device is not updated to the latest software version, it may not be able to receive the alert. It's also possible that the alert was not sent to your location due to network issues or other technical reasons. There is an option in Android and iPhone settings to switch off the emergency alert system, so if your phone didn't go off today then check your settings to ensure that it is switched on. You must also have been connected to 4G or 5G, 3G would not work.
