My daughter has bought me a new phone on id contract and I want to transfer my old phone number that I have sim only contract with Id Mobile to my new phone. How can I do it?

Also, I don’t want to cancel my own sim only contract that I have with ID Mobile as I want to transfer it to my youngest daughters phone number and keep her number instead. How can I do it?

thanks Diana

Hi @Dinacka

Unfortunately, we are not able to do any internal transfers from an idmobile to another idmobile number. So you will not be able to transfer your old number to your new contract.

We suggest upgrading your old number to the new plan you have taken out. That will be the easiest way to retain the same mobile number. And you can return the new contract with new number that has been taken out, if you are within the returns period.

Another way to retain the mobile number, would be to transfer your old number with a PAC code to a PAYG sim card with another network provider. Once it has been switched, then you may request for the PAC code from that network provider and bring it over to your new contract with idmobile. That way, you’d be keeping the same mobile number.

Can you explain to me the steps how to keep my number by porting it to a different network on PAYG

 Hi @Dinacka

You would need to request a PAC code from iD Mobile for your old contract and then give the PAC code to a different network provider for the number to be ported over to a pay as you go account with them. When the number has ported over you can then request a PAC code from them to bring the number back to iD Mobile on your new account.

If you will be porting out the number for your old contract, you will unfortunately not be able to port your daughters number from the network provider she is currently with to your sim only plan as the sim only plan will be disconnected when you port the number out to a pay as you go plan with different network provider.

Thanks,

Anneline

Thanks Anneline for explaining

I think I just will keep my new number and give my old contact to my daughter that would be the easiest option

@Dinacka  If I were you I'd call sale's on +44 20 7139 1397  and explain the whole thing as this could get messy.

Make sure you have all the information to hand phone numbers, account details etc etc
