Hi, I’ve completed an eSIM → physical SIM swap and the SIM shows as activated in my account, but the phone will not register on the network.
I’m getting:
-
Emergency calls only
-
Mobile network state: Disconnected
-
Service state: Out of service
-
“Trying to register… Unable to connect” when selecting iD manually
The SIM is recognised by the phone and I have full signal bars, but the network will not attach my number.
Please detach the old eSIM session on my line and refresh the SIM provisioning. This is the usual fix when the old eSIM profile is still active on the backend and blocking the new SIM from registering.
No new SIM is required — just a backend refresh.
SO I had a samsung ultra it got crushed it was on an esim worked ace in rurual Angus its off to get sorted but using a spare s20 fe with a sim card, hopefully when i get back the ultra will swap with this registered sim card when it works correctly.
For anyone else running into this issue, here’s the bit that finally made sense of it for me. I’m a Reddit admin and pro tech reviewer, and even I got confused — it’s not well explained anywhere on here.
When you move from an eSIM to a physical SIM, sometimes the old eSIM session stays active on iD Mobile’s backend. When that happens, the new SIM activates in your account but won’t actually register on the network.
The fix is:
“iD Mobile need to detach the old eSIM session and refresh the SIM provisioning on their backend. Once they do that, the physical SIM should register instantly.”
If I’ve misunderstood any part of this, hopefully the mods can clarify — but this is the explanation that finally resolved it for me, once the fix is made by the ID techs in the backend i will report back.
Copilot AI helped me understand what was actually happening behind the scenes, so hopefully this helps someone else avoid the same confusion.
LOL Just happen to be a top SEO guy as well hence the title of thread.
Thank you.
