Question

ID says we used 120GB in less than 2 weeks when we only used 60 - how to fix?

We have our sim in a router to provide internet. Our router and all our devices show we have only used around 60GB in the past 2 weeks (since it renewed on the 25th last month) rather than 120GB. Called customer service and the lady said to take the phone to Curry's about it using too much data (??) even though the sim is in the router, not the phone. Thoroughly annoyed about this with no way to fix it, but can't leave iD Mobile without paying a cancellation fee.

Hi @Kaprosuchus

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

We're sorry to hear about your experience and understand why this would be frustrating.

While iD Mobile SIMs can be used in routers, please note that our plans are primarily designed and tested for use in mobile handsets. As a result, we may have limited visibility of usage when the SIM is being used in third-party router equipment.

The data usage information recorded on your account is generated directly from network usage records and is generally very accurate. Unfortunately, we're unable to identify exactly what the data was used for or which specific devices consumed it. If multiple devices were connected to the router during the billing period, this may contribute to higher data consumption than expected.

We appreciate that your own router statistics appear to show different usage levels, however we would need to review the account in more detail before commenting further on the discrepancy.

To allow us to investigate this properly, please contact our Live Chat Team so that an agent can review the account and usage records with you in greater detail.

We apologise again for the frustration caused and appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
