international calls & texting

I have a SIM only contract. Last year while in the USA and Canada I was unable to use my phone for data, calling or texting (unless connected to WiFi).

I had roaming and premium settings toggled to on and had a decent cap set. I also did an add on for data but still couldn't use my phone.

This year I'm going to South Africa and don't want the same problem. Any suggestions/information on how I can make sure I can make calls/send texts (I plan to buy an esim for data).

Thanks

Hi there @AndtF, sorry to hear that.

You will need to ensure roaming is enabled via both your phone’s own settings, and via your account on the app/website.

You will also need to ensure you spend cap is high enough.

Finally, you can also purchase a DATA ONLY add-on via your account if you’d like:

    Thanks,

    Tyler

    Hi

Thanks for replying. Roaming is on (both app and the phone itself) but it still didn't work in the USA or Canada. Hopefully it'll be a different story for this year's trip.
