For the past few days there has been a loss of signal, 4G/5G, in the ST8 Biddulph area. This has been reported on local forums and seems to be affecting the ID and three networks.

Any known issues? Nothing is logged on the service checker

Hi @jb0106

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’re sorry to hear about the loss of 4G/5G signal in the ST8 Biddulph area. kindly note that sometimes localised outages can occur due to maintenance or temporary network congestion, which may not immediately appear on the checker.

You can also check the coverage in your area using the following link:

https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/coverage

Additionally, you may want to try the following steps:
Reinsert your SIM or try it in another phone. This will help determine whether the issue is with the handset or the SIM card.

For iPhone (iOS) – Reset Network Settings:
Go to Settings → General.
Tap Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings.
Confirm the reset when prompted.
Once complete, return to the home screen and restart your iPhone.

For Samsung – Reset Network Settings:
From the Home screen, swipe up to access Apps → Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network Operators.
Turn Select Automatically on or off.
Alternatively:
Go to Settings → General Management → Reset → Reset Network Settings.
Confirm by tapping Reset Settings.

Thank you,

Zandile

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately we are still experiencing 4g/5g outages in the ST8 area. It appears that this has occurred since Vodafone were carrying out works on a phone mast on the A527 meadows way last weekend.

We have carried out the network settings reset procedure with no change.

As soon as we leave the area the signal returns, the signal does return sporadically throughout the day for a few seconds each time and then disappears again.

I have tested using different networks including EE, Vodafone, SKY and all are working ok in this location.

Please can this issue be raised with any engineers.
