Question

My contract is currently in my parents name, I'm due a renewal. Is there a way I can set up my account and keep my number?

So I've started working full time this year and my phone contract is currently under my mums name. I'm due a renewal first week of July and would like to transfer it to my name but dont want to lose my number by starting a new contract entirely. Is there a way around this? I've read here you cant transfer mid contract and this is understandable but is there a way to do it as the contract is essentially restarting. Can she give permission to transfer the number to an account ive created? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi @Millon,

Congratulations on the new job!

Unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to change the account into your name. This is because the agreement and credit check were completed in your mum's name when the account was opened.

It's also worth noting that iD Mobile doesn't support internal number transfers, so there isn't a way to move your current number from your mum's iD Mobile account to a new iD Mobile account in your name.

If you'd like to discuss the account or arrange an upgrade, your mum (as the account holder) can authorise you to act on her behalf by requesting third-party access. You can find more information here: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/legal/accessibility

Once this has been arranged, our team will be able to discuss the available options with you.

Regards,
