not able to make calls

Since returning from the USA I cannot make or receive phone calls. WhatsApp works fine and texts mostly work ok but calls in go straight to voicemail and if I try to call out I get a message that says 'cannot connect'. I have signal, have turned it on and off again and updated software. Any solutions?

I have the same problem. Trying to call my dentist but all calls just end as “call failed”. Switched WiFi calling off, checked the SIM. Switched phone off. Nothing seems to work. Hope someone will help

I’m really sorry to hear about the issues you’re experiencing since returning from the USA, especially not being able to make or receive calls. I understand how frustrating and inconvenient this must be.

As you’ve already tried restarting and updating your software, the next step would be to reset your network settings and then try connecting to a network manually:

 

iPhone:
Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings

Android:
Go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Network Settings

 

After doing this, please restart your phone and try manually selecting a network to reconnect.

If the issue still continues after these steps, please let us know and we’ll be happy to investigate further for you.

In settings-connections-mobile networks I found a button below mobile data usage marked voLTE which was switched off. When I turned it on again my phone worked. Not sure if I turned it off when I turned data roaming off to avoid charges while I was away or what but now all is working. Keep swearing at it and pushing buttons until it does as its told is usually the best approach. Good luck
