Old Phone Needs unlocking

I am so sorry to hear of the issues that you are facing, however kindly note that iD Mobile do not lock our devices to our network, so if the phone was originally bought from us, it should work with any SIM without needing to be unlocked.

If it’s not recognising the SIM, here are a few things you can try:

• Restart the phone with the SIM inserted
• Try a different SIM card to see if it’s detected
• Check for any software updates (Settings > System > Updates)
• Reset network settings (this can help refresh connectivity)

If the phone still won’t accept the SIM, it’s possible the device may be faulty or there could be an issue with the SIM reader.

 Also, if the Pixel 5 was originally purchased from another network, it may be locked to that provider, in which case you’d need to contact the original network or retailer to request an unlock.
