Hi @Lightbulb

iD Mobile offer cheap ‘PAYG’ Sims as per this link:-
https://www.idmobile.co.uk/sim-only-deals/pay-as-you-go

Several UK mobile providers offer a true pay-per-use  (PPU) service where you top up your account with credit and are charged per minute, text, or MB of data used, without the need to buy a monthly bundle.

Key providers for this model include:

Provider

Network Used
Call Rate (per min)
Text Rate (per text)
Data Rate (per MB)
Notes
1pMobile EE 1p 1p 1p Top up £5 every 30 days to stay connected.
Talk Home EE 1p 1p 1p Top up £5 every 30 days to avoid disconnection.
iD Mobile Three 3p 2p 1p Top up £10 every two months or you might be disconnected.
Asda Mobile Vodafone 15p 10p 10p
Three Three 35p 15p 10p No minimum top-up requirement, but needs usage every six months.
giffgaff O2 25p 10p 10p
Lebara Mobile Vodafone 25p 19p 9p Strong for cheap international calls.

Considerations for Choosing a Provider

  • Coverage: Providers use the four main UK networks (EE, O2, Vodafone, Three). Check coverage in your local area using the provider's postcode checker before committing.
  • Usage Habits: True PPU is best for very light or emergency use, where monthly usage is minimal. If you use your phone frequently, a monthly "bundle" or a one-month rolling SIM-only deal (which you can cancel anytime) often offers much better value.
  • SIM Expiry: Most PPU SIMs require minimal use (e.g., one call/text every 6 months) or a small top-up every 30-90 days to keep the service active and avoid disconnection.

Hope this helps x

Hi @Lightbulb

I can confirm that you can visit a Currys store where they can assist you with purchasing your iD Mobile Pay As You go SIM which you can use for emergency as stated above.
