Paying my contract early and changing to sim only

Hi, I am interested in paying my contract early and keeping the same number but converting to Sim only, how do I do this? My phone isn’t working and I have had to purchase a new phone from elsewhere. Thanks in advance, Mark.

You would probably be better off doing the following @mark.lew1975:

  1. Pick up a PAY GO SIM from another network
  2. PAC out your iD Mobile number to that PAY GO SIM (A Final bill will be generated)
  3. Purchase a new iD Mobile plan (you get a better deal as a new customer)
  4. PAC your number from that PAY GO SIM back to your new iD Mobile plan
  5. Pay your final bill from your original iD Mobile contract (includes the early termination fee)

You can, of course, request a replacement SIM or use your old one in your new device until you're eligible for an upgrade on your existing account.

Hi there @mark.lew1975, thank you for your question. We do offer early upgrades. Upto 30-days for a 12-month plan, and upto 60-days for a 24-month plan.

However, we don’t offer early upgrades in terms of paying your contract off early I’m afraid. The only way to pay off your contract early with us would be to cancel it and disconnect, meaning you’d then be unable to upgrade, and the only way to then keep your number would be via PAC code to another network, or a triangle port, to keep your number with us on a new plan.

So to confirm, if you wished to pay off the contract early, it’d simply be to disconnect it I’m afraid.

What plan are you on, and when does your contract end please?

Thanks,

Tyler

Sorry for the late reply, my contract ends in January 26 I think.

Just so you are aware, I've received a scam email pretending to be linked to this thread, asking me to provide my phone number, from irenemorgan298@gmail.com, it seems be linked to similar scams with other networks on Googling the email address. Thanks.

Hi there @mark.lew1975, thank you for bringing that to our attention, and please do not give any details to them. We wouldn’t send you an email unless we advised you that we were doing so.

Is your plan a 12-month or 24-month contract please?

Thanks,

Tylere

Hi Tyler, I purchased it in Feb 2024, the phone was through you guys, the charging port has never seemed quite right and gradually deteriorated to the point where it will barely connect to most chargers unless really pressed in and even then I get notifications saying it’s slow charging etc.

Hi there @mark.lew1975, thank you for confirming. If your plan ends on 26th January, and if you were to leave now via PAC code, you’d have to pay a termination fee, which is the remainder of your contract rolled into one payment.

We do offer early upgrades/plan changes for 24-month contracts up-to 60-days before the expiry date, so you’d be able to upgrade/plan change to a SIM only plan at the end of November given your expiry date.

If you do leave early, you’d simply have to pay the termination fee, which is the remainder of your contract paid into one final bill.

Thanks,

Tyler
