porting my old number didnt work

I had a number porting scheduled for yesterday from 3 to idmobile. Around 10am (yesterday) the three simcard got disconnected, but it did not make it to idmobile. I swapped the SIM but still have the original idmobile number in it. Its now been over 27 hours since it happened. Tried restarting etc etc but nothing triggers it. Customer service is not available.

Makes me wonder if my number is permanently lost! 

 

Appreciate any help ..

I do apologise for the issue you're experiencing with your number not updating after the transfer. Please try the steps below to see if this improves your service.

For Apple Devices:

Please check and update your number manually by following these steps:

Go to Settings > Phone > My Number

Enter your correct number, replacing the first 0 with +44 (e.g., +447XXXXXXXXX)

Then go to Settings > Messages

Make sure iMessage is turned on

Tap Send & Receive, and ensure your correct number is selected

For Android Devices:

Go to Settings > About Phone or About Device > Status > My Phone Number

If needed, go to your Messages app:

Tap More (three dots) > Settings > Advanced

Select Phone Number and update it to your correct number

Tap OK to save changes

If the number is still incorrect, remove the SIM card, reboot the phone, and reinsert the SIM

Check again to see if the correct number is displayed

If issues persist, try inserting the SIM into a different device and check if your correct number appears when sending a text

If the issue continues, it’s best to contact us so we can check the status of the number transfer on our system.

Thanks Michael, I've all the steps and, additionally, tried resetting network settings on the phone and nothing worked.

I'll keep trying to get through on the live chat. Appreciate your help

Can you call the number you wanted to keep from another phone, ​@Slonik

Using another mobile or landline, what exactly happens when you call the mobile number you wanted to keep?

Hi ​@Natalie W , no. I reached out to someone by email and they said they're looking into it. Looks like my phone number was ported into idmobile and is marked as all done, but the change didn't link to my account. Person who helped wasn't able to resolve it themselves, so this has now been escalated to the tech team. 

I really hope my number won't be allocated to someone else whilst this is all being sorted.
