Problems activating Whatsapp on iphone after transferring from Android

Hi I'm trying to activate my whatsapp account on an iphone 15 after using it on android (Samsung) for years. The iphone is not receiving a code via SMS or voicemail. I've tried all the options from the Whatsapp help page with no success.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

For info I successfully transferred all other data & info from the Samsung to the iphone using the recommended IOS transfer App other security codes have been successfully received by the iphone for Adobe, Amazon etc. I can still access Whatsapp on my laptop.

Its basic, but can I ask if the handset is running the latest software and you have tried a reboot?

Basic is helpful! I’ve just tried and the activation code is still not getting through
