reverted back to ID mobile number

My son got his new phone about 5 weeks ago and we got the PAC code from EE and transferred to his old number. This worked fine, but his phone has just reverted back to using the number ID mo I’ve gave him! Why and what can we do please?

I’m really sorry to hear this has happened. I understand how confusing and frustrating it must be, especially as the number was working fine after the transfer.

 

This can sometimes happen if the network hasn’t fully refreshed the SIM profile, but we can usually resolve it by performing a network reset to help the SIM correctly re-register the transferred number.

 

Please follow the steps below depending on the device:

 

For iPhone:
Go to Settings
Tap Phone
Tap My Number
Delete the old number and re-enter the correct one
Tap Save
Go to Settings → Messages and turn iMessage OFF
Go to General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset
Select Reset Network Settings
Once the phone restarts, go back to Settings → Messages and turn iMessage ON
The device should then re-verify the SIM and number

 


For Android:
Open Settings
Tap General management
Tap Reset
Select Reset network settings

 

Once completed, please restart the phone and check if the correct number is now showing.
