Roaming in Italy (from the UK)

If you’re travelling to Italy, you normally do not need to add any extra roaming package with iD Mobile.

Italy is included in our EU roaming zone, which means you can use your allowance (calls, texts, and data) just like you do in the UK, subject to fair usage limits.

📱 How to turn roaming on

Before you travel, make sure roaming is enabled on your phone:

For most smartphones:

iPhone:

• Settings → Mobile Data → Mobile Data Options
• Turn Data Roaming ON

Android:

• Settings → Connections / Network & Internet
• Mobile Networks → Turn Data Roaming ON

💰 Set a bill cap (recommended)

We strongly recommend setting your bill cap to £0 to avoid any unexpected charges.

To do this:

1. Log in to your iD Mobile account portal
2. Go to My Account / Settings
3. Select Bill Cap
4. Set the cap to £0

🇮🇹 While in Italy

Your phone will not use iD Mobile directly instead, it will automatically connect to a partner network in Italy. If it doesn’t connect automatically, you can select a network manually in your phone settings.

 

And also make sure that roaming is active on the handset and app.
