3 days I’ve had this phone number and so far I have had 3 spam phone calls and one spam text! I’ve put my number in the NHS app and given it to family and friends. How are spam callers getting my number??? I’ve just changed from Giffgaff because of this! Any way to stop it?

What phone do you have? Maybe try downloading a spam blocker app such as Truecaller or Hiya.

Hi there @MrsStorey, we’re sorry to hear that. We hope the kind advice from @WelshPaul has been able to help.

Unfortunately, all we can advise is to ignore/block any spam callers where possible. We can offer a number change, however this costs £25.00, unless you have an action fraud reference. But I’m afraid there’s not much we can do or advise when it comes to spam calls, other to ignore and block what you can.

Sorry about that.

Thanks,

Tyler

I have had the number less than a week, I’m not paying to change it. I don’t understand how I can be getting these calls when I haven’t entered my number anywhere. This seems like a problem with ID. Do you sell the numbers to companies?

Hi there @MrsStorey, sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, there is no way of us knowing how spam callers get your number, or why they keep contacting you I’m afraid. We do not sell our customers number’s or details to anyone else.

All we as a network, any any network really can advise is to ignore/block the numbers where possible, and offer a number change if the customer wishes to do so.

We’re really sorry about that.

Thanks,

Tyler

If iD Mobile won’t replace the number, just cancel; you are within the cooling-off period. Even if they do change the number, you won’t ever be free of spam.
