Question

Swapping mobile numbers between two contracts without cancelling them

I’m with iD Mobile with 6 months left on my contract, and my son is with Lebara. We both want to keep our existing numbers but swap them between our contracts. (I’m going away and I’d be able to use my phone abroad for free with Lebara)

Can we each get a PAC and transfer our numbers to the other person’s contract without cancelling either contract or risking losing either number?

Thanks for any intel you may have!

    Hi @Sarahandra,

Unfortunately, using a PAC code to transfer either number would cause the contract associated with that number to disconnect once the number transfer completes.

This means that if you both used PAC codes to swap the numbers, both existing plans would ultimately be cancelled rather than simply exchanging the numbers between them.

As you still have time remaining on your contract, using your PAC could also result in applicable early termination charges.
