I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues donating by text.

There have been reports that some text donation services operated through Donr may not currently support certain mobile virtual networks, including iD Mobile, for charges added directly to the mobile bill.

You’ve already checked the key settings, which is great:

• Bill Cap
• Premium rate permissions

A few additional things you can still try are:

• Ensure Premium Rate SMS is enabled in the iD Mobile app/account
• Restart the handset
• Try sending the donation text manually again with good signal/Wi-Fi off
• Make sure your Bill Cap is set above £0, as premium texts can be blocked otherwise

However, if the charity uses Donr’s shortcode platform specifically, the issue may unfortunately be due to compatibility limitations between the donation provider and certain networks rather than a problem with your phone settings.

In many cases, Donr will instead send a fallback link allowing the donation to be completed by card payment.

If it still does not work after checking the above, we’d recommend contacting:

• The charity directly, or
• Donr support

to confirm whether their shortcode currently supports iD Mobile numbers.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and I’m sorry to hear of your disappointment.

At the moment, some charity donation services, may incur charges or may not be fully supported on iD Mobile. This is due to how these services are classified and billed by the provider rather than the network itself.

We do understand how frustrating this can be, especially when donating to charities such as UNICEF.
