Question

Told I have reached my call limit but i have unlimited minutes

This is only happening with one number, and only in the last day. I have called this number before, it is a free UK number, I have never had any problems before. I tried calling this evening and got told that I was unable to complete the call due to having reached my call limit, but I have unlimited minutes. The only information I can find says the phone number must be out of bounds but it's is a free UK number that I have called many times before. Please advise

Hi @VLynn,

Thanks for getting in touch.

Although you have unlimited minutes, some numbers are not included within standard allowances, even if they appear to be UK numbers. This can include certain service, forwarding or specialist numbers.

As the issue is only happening with this specific number, it’s possible it falls into one of the excluded chargeable categories listed on our website, you are able to view that here: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-support/call-charges.

We’d recommend trying the following:

  • Open the iD Mobile app or login online
  • Go to My Services
  • Select Bill Cap
  • Increase the bill cap amount
  • Save the changes

Once updated, wait a few minutes and then try calling the number again.

Hopefully this resolves the issue for you.

Regards,

I will do as you recommend however, I am confused because I have had no trouble calling this number in the past and have done so very recently. I don't understand why this would suddenly change, especially because the number I am calling is a free to call number

Hi @VLynn

Thank you for letting us know and for the update.

Please let us know if the steps work, as it may indicate a network or system issue on our end that could be causing the account not to function correctly.
