Question

Transfer number from old dead phone

My old Samsung S20 has just died. By which I mean it won’t take or hold a charge.

So I’ve bought a new A57.

How do I get the eSIM from the old phone onto this one?  I still have the eSIM email, but trying to scan it tells me that it’s already active.

I specifically want to keep the old number, as so many things use it for verification.

Again, the old phone can’t power on long enough to get anything off it.

    Hi @ClickRick

Sorry to hear your Samsung S20 has stopped working I understand how important it is to keep your number, especially when it’s linked to so many verification services.

As your eSIM is already active on your previous device, it can’t be scanned or re-used directly on your new handset. In situations like this, we’ll need to issue a replacement eSIM so you can move your number over to your new Samsung A57.

To get this sorted, please contact our Live Chat team or send us a DM via our social media channels on Facebook or Instagram. One of our agents will be able to securely verify your account and provide you with a replacement eSIM to activate on your new device.

Once you receive the new eSIM, you’ll be able to install it on your Samsung A57 and continue using your existing number as normal.
