Hi @Tomtom123

I’m really glad you’ve asked this before travelling it’s the best way to avoid any unexpected charges.

To help you use your data safely abroad and avoid a large bill, here’s what you can do with iD Mobile:

1.Check if roaming is included in your plan

Most iD Mobile plans include roaming in selected destinations, meaning you can use your UK allowance (data, calls, texts) at no extra cost in those countries.

You can check what’s included for your destination in the iD Mobile app or on our website before you travel.

2. Turn on roaming

Make sure Data Roaming is switched ON in your phone settings and also enabled in your iD Mobile account/app.

3. Set a Bill Cap (recommended)

To help control costs, you can set your Bill Cap to £0 in the iD Mobile app. This helps prevent any out-of-plan charges.

4. Connect to a partner network

When you arrive, your phone should automatically connect to a local partner network. If not, you may need to manually select one in your network settings.

5. Wi-Fi usage

Where possible, use Wi-Fi for browsing, streaming, and downloads to reduce mobile data usage.

6. If roaming is not included

If your destination is not included in your plan, you can purchase a roaming data add-on. Please note this add-on is for data only and does not include calls or texts.
