Why am I waiting forever for an agent to respond through Live Chat?

I have 24 days left of my 24 month contract. I wish to upgrade to a Sim only deal. When should I notify ID Mobile of my intention to end my contract and start a Sim only with them? I don't want to pay an early termination fee, so should I wait until the last day (24th Nov) of my contract to end it and then on the same day order the Sim? 

Live Chat is pointless as I keep getting disconnected before an agent answers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
