why did i have no signal when out and about yoday i shouldn't have to rely on wifi

When out and about today going around shops my phone kept saying emergency calls only why I should not have to rely on WiFi

We completely understand your concern. You should not have to rely on Wi-Fi to maintain a mobile connection, and we'd like to help identify what may have caused this.

 

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Restart your handset
  • Toggle Airplane Mode on for 60 seconds and then off
  • Ensure your handset is set to 4G/5G Auto or 4G/LTE only
  • Manually select the network:
    • Go to Settings > Mobile Network > Network Operators
    • Turn off Automatic Selection
    • Wait for available networks to load
    • Select the iD Mobile/Three network manually
    • Re-enable Automatic Selection afterwards
  • Ensure your handset software is fully up to date
  • Reset your network settings:
    • iPhone: Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings
    • Android: Settings > System/General Management > Reset > Reset Mobile Network Settings

Hi, tired everything you have suggested still not getting any network coverage even checked my sim cleaned it as suggested and the signal for sim is bad, not impressed at all

I think you are stopping my phone using the network I pay for does it have anything to do with the APN
