Hi, I changed my direct debit payment dates today to be on the 23rd this is because, I have been out of mobile data for over a week now because I accidentally used all of it syncing icloud not knowing I wasn’t using wifi. I therefore tried to change my payment date to today, to allow my plan to restart today so I could have mobile data however it now says that it renews in 17 days and I will be charged more? Although I still have no mobile data. I also cannot go another 17 days without mobile data so I would please like my payment date to be moved back again.

Changing your payment date will not reset your plan date, it will continue to roll on the date already gaven

Hi @eti,

We're sorry to hear this has happened.

Changing your Direct Debit payment date does not refresh your allowances immediately. Your allowances will only refresh on your next billing date, which is why your account is now showing your next renewal in 17 days.

Unfortunately, the Direct Debit payment date can only be changed once every 6 months via the iD Mobile app or online account, so it can't be changed back straight away.

Here's how to change your Direct Debit payment date:

  1. Go to https://my.idmobile.co.uk/login and log in.
  2. Click Bills.
  3. Click Manage your payments.
  4. Click Change your payment date.
  5. Select your preferred payment date, read the terms and conditions and click Submit.

The terms and conditions are:

  • Due to the Direct Debit process, payment may come out of your bank account up to 3 working days after your nominated date.
  • Your Direct Debit payment date will change from your next billing period. If you've got a Direct Debit payment pending, it'll still come out on the original due date.
  • Your billing period will change to align with your new payment date.
  • Your allowances will refresh on your new billing date.
  • Your next billing month will be longer than usual. To ensure you've got enough allowances, they'll be pro-rated during this period (along with your line rental). This means your next bill will be higher than usual.
