Hi @gemmanorcott

Thank you for reaching out to us, please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused in relation to the bill issues received.
When you change the bill date you do get charged for a longer duration dependent on the date chosen.
This is then charged from the date that the bill period is currently until the new date which is more than 30 days and this is why it is increased.

Please be advised that this is a once off bill and the bill will change back to your monthly line rental when the next bill is generated.

Thanks,
Hosai

Hi @Nikkala1,

Thanks for getting in touch.

When you change your Direct Debit payment date, your billing period also changes so that it lines up with your new payment date. Because of this, the first billing period after the change is usually longer than a normal month.

During this extended billing period, both your allowances and your monthly line rental are pro-rated to cover the extra days. This means your next bill will usually be higher than normal, as it's covering more than the standard monthly billing period. After this one-off adjustment, your future bills will return to the normal monthly amount.

It's also worth noting that:

  • Your Direct Debit may be taken up to 3 working days after your chosen payment date.
  • If there's already a Direct Debit waiting to be collected when you change the date, it will still be taken on the original date.
  • Your allowances will refresh on your new billing date going forward.

You can read more about changing your Direct Debit payment date here: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-support/direct-debit

Hi @David_25

I’m sorry your query wasn’t resolved. Please note that when you change your bill date you may see a higher-than-usual charge. This can happen because the bill may cover more than 30 days, requiring a one‑time adjustment; you may also receive a pro‑rata allowance to cover the remaining days. That adjustment applies only to the specific billing period in question. When this happens, the charges will return to normal from the next bill. I hope this clears up any confusion.

Regards,

Tashnieka
