Changing direct debit day

I set my new phone up on the 8th April and changed my direct debit date to the 1st of every month via the app. A payment has come out today but when I try to change the date to the first it says I already have?

Thanks for your message, and I’m sorry for the confusion. I understand it’s frustrating when the app shows one thing but your bank shows another.
 

What’s likely happening:

• Direct Debit changes can take 1 billing cycle to fully update
• If a payment was already scheduled before the change, it can still be taken on the old date
• The app may show the new date is set, but it won’t always override an already pending payment
 

Please try this:

• Check your billing section in the app to confirm the next scheduled payment date
• Wait 24–48 hours and try again (sometimes changes need time to fully sync)
• If it still shows “already set,” it means the change is active but pending system update
