Hi, I have just received This message having just sent a picture to someone. I have never had this message before so I was wondering if something in my contract has just changed.

    Hi @Gottal,

    Thank you for your message.

Don't worry, your contract or monthly plan hasn't changed. This is an automatic notification to let you know that standard picture messages (MMS) are not included in your regular monthly allowance or any extra add-ons.

Whenever you attach a photo to a standard text message, it sends as an MMS and costs 55p. To avoid this charge in the future, you can send photos using internet-based apps like WhatsApp, iMessage (for iPhones), or Facebook Messenger, which use your data allowance instead.

    Thanks,

    Hi @Gottal

As @Kwanele Z has stated, MMS messages with attachments are not included within your plan.

If you don’t wish to use an internet based App, but still wish to send a photo, GIF, etc, within an MMS, then you can increase your bill cap to cover any charges that you will incur in doing so:-

It allows you to add extra charges, within a budget, to your bill on top of the cost of your basic plan. This also includes if you wish to use short codes to enter competitions and other options as set out here:-

    Hope this helps x

    Hi @Gottal.

Thank you for your post.  To avoid being charged for MMS in the future it would help to set your bill cap to £0.

    Thanks,
