Question

Closed account still reporting to credit agencies

I ported my number from iD Mobile to EE in April 2026. Despite this, iD Mobile is still actively reporting to Experian that the account remains open with a £15 balance.

My plan was £15 per month. I received a final bill on 9 May 2026 for £2.66, which was paid by direct debit on 20 May 2026.

I just spoke with a live chat agent who confirmed that the account is closed and settled, with no outstanding balance or bill remaining.

How can I get this resolved?

    Hi @WelshPaul,

I'm sorry to hear about the confusion this has caused, especially as you've already confirmed with our Live Chat team that the account is closed and fully settled.

Please also be mindful not to share screenshots or any information that could identify your account on the Community, as this is a public platform.

It's worth noting that closed accounts don't disappear from your credit history immediately. Credit account information can remain on your credit file for several years after an account has been closed.

However, if the account is incorrectly showing as open with an outstanding £15 balance, despite being confirmed as closed and settled, we'd recommend contacting Experian directly and raising a dispute regarding the information showing on your credit file. They can investigate the information being reported and contact the provider where necessary.

    Regards,
