Hi,

I'm currently on holiday in Corfu (Greece) and will be here until 3/08/26 - how does data roaming work please charges wise?
I’ve ensured my spend cap is at £5 as last year it automatically connected me to an Albanian network and I was charged.
I am using Cosmote which is Greece and also ensured I did this manually and turned off automatic network selection.

Hi @LucylooT,

Thanks for getting in touch.

As Greece is an inclusive roaming destination, you can use your UK allowance while you're there. To help prevent any unexpected roaming charges, we'd recommend setting your bill cap to £0.00 before using your phone abroad.

To do this:

  • Log in to the iD Mobile app or your online account.
  • Go to Bills.
  • Select Manage Bill Cap.
  • Set your bill cap to £0.00.

As you've experienced your phone connecting to Albania previously, we'd also recommend keeping Automatic Network Selection turned off and manually connecting to one of our roaming partners in Greece:

  • Cosmote
  • Vodafone Greece
  • Nova

This will help reduce the risk of your phone connecting to a non-inclusive network near the border.

The only time charges should apply in Greece is if your phone accidentally connects to a non-inclusive roaming partner, or if you're using your phone on a ship, ferry or cruise, as these often use satellite networks which aren't covered by inclusive roaming.

We hope you have a fantastic holiday!

Regards,
