Question

Direct Debit Reinstate

Hi,

Just have an issue, I originally had a DD which i switched to another account.  12 months later I've tried to update the DD back to the original account and I'm having difficulty with this.

I keep getting a text saying it's been reinstated, then I got another saying the bank have cancelled this.  This wasn't correct as its active on the banks side.

So I did this again and looks like it's repeating the same receiving texts and will eventually cancel.

Is there a work around here as ID mobile are cancelling and then reinstating the DD each time, but they just need to make a claim.

Kd

Hi @Diluk

Thank you for getting in touch with us I’m sorry for the confusion this has caused.

When a Direct Debit is updated on the account, the system does cancel the previous instruction and create a new one with the bank. Sometimes the bank may automatically cancel or reject the instruction during this process, which can trigger the messages you’re receiving, even if the account itself is active.

As a workaround, please try removing the Direct Debit from your account completely and then setting it up again using the original bank details. Once this is done, please allow a little time for the instruction to be confirmed between us and your bank.

If the issue continues after trying this, please reach out to us via Live Chat https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat or send us a private message so we can look into your account in more detail and help get this sorted for you. We’ll be happy to help.

Thank you,

Zandile

Can I check, when you refer to remove.  You mean cancel the sd, and then setup again?

Ps.. I've not cancelled this previously but when setting up, ID Mobile have always just reinstated the existing and not setup a new one..

Thx

Hi @Diluk.

Thank you for the update, when she says remove, she is referring to the, the older bank account details.
