End contract early (22mo / 24mo) switch to SIM only

I found a better deal for an upgrade than the ones through iD, so I wanna keep my phone number but pay off my current phone 2 months (or 1 billing month) early + switch to a cheaper SIM plan.

Was planning on cancelling it to do so. Does the early cancellation fee consist of the remaining payments or is there a fee ontop of that? Or is there some easier way to do this? I assume the SIM plan switching might be a problem since it’s more of a downgrade, but I do want to stay with iD.

I’m not sure what you mean, are you planning to move the number you have with iD Mobile away from the plan it’s on? If so, moving the number via PAC code would fully cancel the plan itself.

 

If not, to upgrade to a SIM only plan, you’ll need to await your full contracted term to end, you won’t be able to pay the remaining early and upgrade quicker.

 

It wouldn’t be possible to move a number from one iD Mobile plan to another iD Mobile plan.

Okay, I’ll switch to a SIM-only contract after this contract ends. I assume I’d be allowed to buy a new phone now and use that SIM, whilst paying off the current phone normally?

Yes, you’re absolutely welcome to buy a new phone now and use it with your current iD SIM,  that won’t affect your existing contract, and you can continue paying off your current phone as normal.
