EU Roaming Data Allowance Clarification (Account-Specific Query)

Hi,

I'm hoping one of the Community Champions may be able to help with an account-specific question regarding EU roaming data allowances.

I currently have two iD Mobile accounts and, from what I can see, both appear to have a 30GB EU roaming limit. However, I've found some conflicting information on the forum regarding whether customers can use their full UK data allowance while roaming in the EU, depending on their plan and account details.

I'm not looking for the standard roaming terms and conditions, as I've already reviewed those. What I really need is for someone to check the specific details of my accounts to confirm exactly what EU data allowance applies to each line and whether I'm restricted to 30GB or can use my full UK data allowance whilst roaming.

If this requires account access, I'd be grateful if a Community Champion could send me a private message so I can provide the relevant account details securely.

Many thanks for your help.

Hi @Billigmeister

Thank you for reaching out, and I apologise for the confusion caused by the conflicting information regarding EU roaming data allowances.

I can clarify that, at present, the 30GB EU roaming restriction has been temporarily lifted until further notice. This means that when you're roaming in one of our included Roam Free destinations, you can currently use your normal UK data allowance at no extra cost.

For example, if you have a 40GB plan, you can currently use your full 40GB allowance while roaming in an included destination. If you have an Unlimited Data plan, you can currently use your normal unlimited UK allowance while roaming in those destinations.

The standard Fair Usage Policy still refers to the 30GB limit, which is why you may see conflicting information in the app, website or older Community posts. However, the current temporary arrangement means the 30GB restriction is not currently being applied. This arrangement is in place until further notice, and we would notify customers if the 30GB restriction is reinstated.

Please also be aware that this applies only when you're connected to an included Roam Free destination. If your phone connects to a non-included or maritime network, usage may be chargeable.

As you have two iD Mobile accounts and want confirmation of the allowance applicable to each specific line, we'd recommend contacting us via Live Chat so we can complete the necessary security checks and verify the roaming allowance against each account individually.

We'd also recommend setting your Bill Cap to £0 before travelling to help prevent unexpected charges if your handset connects to a chargeable network.

I apologise again for the conflicting information and appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
