Question

I have been charged £50 for using all of my data in my plan. Why has this happended and how do I get a refund

I have used all of the 100GB of my data this month and for some reason I am being charged £50 for using it all. Why am I being charged for this and how can i be refunded as this £50 I am being charged has made my monthly bill £81.23.

    Hi @daisy1437,

I’m sorry to hear about the unexpected £50 charge, especially as this has increased your bill considerably.

Once your 100GB monthly data allowance was fully used, any further data usage would have been charged at the applicable out-of-plan rate. It sounds like you had a £50 Bill Cap in place, which allowed the additional data usage to continue until that cap was reached.

As the data was used beyond your inclusive allowance and your Bill Cap permitted the additional usage, the charges would be considered valid and unfortunately wouldn’t be refundable. You would remain liable for the charges incurred.

To prevent this happening again, we recommend setting your Bill Cap to £0.00. This will prevent further chargeable data usage once your monthly allowance has been exhausted.
