Good evening,

I made a one off card payment, of £12.00 on my account but ID have issue the direct debit for this month bill already, and is due to come out tommorow! - as my bill is £12.00 a month! If I let my Direct debit fail! Will ID use my available credit of £12.00 which I have on my account, to pay my bill for this month(November bill)? . When it comes back to them as failed direct debit?

If your direct debit fails, your balance will be zero because the manual payment covers this month. However, be aware that your bank might charge you a fee for a returned unpaid direct debit. Additionally, if you miss several payments, the direct debit may be cancelled and your bank might refuse to set up another agreement. Oh, your credit file could take a hit too!

Thank you,

this was just a one off payment as don’t get paid while the 3rd so made a manual payment off my credit card - but didn’t realise the direct debit was sent to the bank already.

So once the direct debit comes back as failed will the £12.00 credit being taken automatically to pay this months (November) bill? ☺️ If so that’s great.

just a one off manual payment, the direct debit still active in my bank.
