If I switch carriers midway through a monthly plan, will I get a pro rata refund?

My 24 month phone contract is coming to an end in about two weeks. I have obtained a PAC code and will switch carriers the moment my contract ends. My monthly data plan has just renewed so when the switch occurs, I would be halfway through my plan, will I get a pro rata refund? Does it happen automatically or do I need to request it?

When your contract ends and you switch providers using your PAC code:

Any unused allowance (data, minutes, or texts) is not automatically refunded.

You may need to request a pro-rata refund by contacting iD Mobile’s support team after your account is closed.

Ensure that your final bill is settled to make the refund process smoother.
