I have been getting messages today saying I’ve used 80% of my data and now I have used 100% of my 25gb monthly data.

i am using WiFi and have been using it all day so how is my data going down when I am using WiFi.

and there’s no way I’ve used 25gb in 5/6 days, especially when I’m at home all day logged onto WiFi

    Hi @Juggernaut,

I'm sorry to hear about the confusion with your data usage.

Even when you're connected to Wi-Fi, some mobile data can still be used in the background. This can happen if:

    • Your Wi-Fi connection temporarily drops out and the phone switches to mobile data.
    • Apps are syncing data in the background.
    • Photos and videos are being backed up.
    • Apps are downloading updates.
    • Streaming, social media and video apps continue to refresh content.

It's also worth checking which apps are using the most data, as some apps can consume significantly more data than others.

To check data usage on iPhone:

    • Open Settings.
    • Tap Mobile Data (or Cellular).
    • Scroll down to see how much data each app has used.
    • To stop an app using mobile data, switch the toggle off next to the app.

To help save data on iPhone:

    • Turn on Low Data Mode under Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options.
    • Disable mobile data for apps you don't need.
    • Turn off Wi-Fi Assist under Settings > Mobile Data so your phone doesn't automatically switch to mobile data when Wi-Fi is weak.

To check data usage on Android:

    • Open Settings.
    • Tap Network & Internet or Connections.
    • Select Data Usage or Mobile Data Usage.
    • You'll see a breakdown of which apps are using the most data.
    • Tap on an app to restrict background data usage if required.

To help save data on Android:

    • Enable Data Saver in Settings > Network & Internet > Data Saver.
    • Restrict background data for apps you don't use often.
    • Disable automatic app updates over mobile data.
    • Ensure you're connected to Wi-Fi before streaming videos or downloading large files.

Hopefully checking your device's data usage will help identify where the data has gone. Let us know what you find.

    Regards,
