An unexpectedly high bill can be frustrating, especially when the extra charge is not clearly explained. It would be helpful to compare the latest bill with previous ones and check whether the difference comes from an added charge, usage outside the plan, or a recent account change.

You're absolutely right that comparing a higher-than-expected bill with previous bills can be a good starting point. It can often help identify whether the difference is due to:

An additional charge.
Out-of-plan usage.
A recent plan or account change.
Pro-rata charges following a plan change or payment date change.
