payment went through but account showing outstanding pyment

Similar issues to others on this site but no proper course of action has been recommended on any of those topics. So have to ask for help myself. Issues with payment led to the direct debit being cancelled and now I can't set it up again because of an outstanding balance that shouldn't be there, my payments are up to date. I'm just about to finish the contract and want to switch to a sim only plan soon.
