Call Abroad add-ons give you a set monthly allowance to call international landlines and mobiles, at a price that stays the same every month.
How do Call Abroad add-ons work?
There are 3 add-ons to choose from, depending on where you're calling:
- Call Abroad 100 Minutes EU – £5 per month
- Call Abroad 150 Minutes Global Faves – £7.50 per month
- Call Abroad 75 Minutes Worldwide – £12 per month
Each add-on is valid for 1 month. You can buy them as a one-off or set them to auto-renew each month so you're never caught short.
Key things to know:
- UK use only: Call Abroad add-ons are for calling internationally whilst you're in the UK. If you're already abroad, your standard roaming charges apply instead.
- Calls only: These add-ons cover international calls to landlines and mobiles. Premium rate numbers aren't included.
- Unused minutes: Minutes don't roll over. Any allowance you haven't used will expire when the add-on does, or reset if it auto-renews.
- Usage reminders: We'll text you when you've used 80% of your allowance, and again when you've used it all.
The cost of your add-on is added to your next monthly bill.
One-off vs. auto-renew.
When you buy a Call Abroad add-on, you choose how it works:
- One-off
Your add-on lasts for one calendar month from the exact time you buy it. If you buy it on 12th May at 15:34, it expires on 12th June at 15:34. There's no limit on how many one-off add-ons you can have at the same time.
- Auto-renew
Your add-on renews automatically each month at midnight (00:00) on the same date you bought it. You can only have 1 active auto-renewing add-on at a time. If you want to switch to a different one, wait for your current auto-renewing add-on to expire first.
If you run out of minutes before your auto-renewing add-on refreshes, you can buy a one-off add-on to top up. Your auto-renewing add-on will still renew as normal on its usual date.
Please note: To cancel an auto-renewing add-on, you need to do it at least 1 hour before it's due to renew. Once cancelled, your add-on stays active until it expires. It won't stop straight away.

FAQs.
Do unused minutes roll over?
No. Any minutes you haven't used will expire when your add-on does, or reset if your add-on auto-renews.
Can I change a one-off add-on to auto-renew?
No. You can only choose between one-off and auto-renew at the point of purchase. Once bought, the type can't be changed.
What happens when I run out of minutes?
Once your allowance is used up, any further international calls will be charged at standard out-of-bundle rates. To avoid this, you can buy a one-off add-on to top up your minutes.
Will my Bill Cap affect my add-on?
No. The cost of buying an add-on is separate from your Bill Cap. You can still purchase one even if you've hit your Bill Cap for the month.
Do add-ons carry over if I change my plan?
Yes. Any active add-ons stay on your account even if you upgrade or change your plan.
Can I use my Call Abroad add-on when I'm overseas?
No. Call Abroad add-ons are only for calling internationally from the UK. If you're already abroad, your standard roaming charges will apply.
